Almost all of our yarns are hand dyed.
Angora Superfine Merino
Handspun Hand Dyed Yarn
Betsy was an angora rabbit who once lived with
Connie Wellner. She left the earth but Connie
clung to all of her earthly gifts until she sold
them to me (along with several other rabbits
lovely wool). Each coat produced by a naturally
colored angora rabbit can vary in color from the
last and we have two versions of this
deliciously fun and furry yarn that I call
Betsy’s Candied Apple.
One ply is a richly colored merino, dyed in the
Forbidden City colorway that was blended with a
twinkly gold Firestar and the other ply is this
gorgeous hand plucked angora that will fur out
to beat the band.
Fiber: 60% natural black angora/38% superfine
merino/2% Firestar nylon
Gauge:Tricky. I would knit it at probably 4
stitches per inch, to allow for bloom
Needle size: I would suggest an 8 or 9 with this
but you must play for yourself
Cashmere/Superfine
Merino Handspun Hand Dyed Yarn
Our road trip to Stitches Midwest last August
gave me one impression of Iowa that remained in
this colorway; corn fields in tassel. You can
see it, I know that you can. There is enough in
this offering (1270 yards total) for a beautiful
project. Don’t knit this too tightly, giving it
room to bloom. The is amount of twist will make
it very bouncy, indeed. I call this yarn Iowa
August.
Fiber: 50/50 Cashmere/Superfine Merino
Gauge: 4 to 4.5 stitches per inch
Needle size 7-8 US/4.5-5mm suggested

Wonderland Handspun Hand Dyed Yarn
It all began
with a post on Facebook and I soon became the
owner of an amazing Teeswater fleece, which I
teased with some vibrant Border Leicester Lamb
locks and a little bit of Firestar for fun. I
call this yarn Wonderland because that is what
it is to me, all curly locks and yumminess.
Fiber content: 99% wool 1%Firestar nylon
Suggested Gauge: This is thick and thin
energized single and should average to about 4
stitches per inch
Suggested Needle size: 9 US
This yarn will be beautiful on its own and
gorgeous held with another simpler yarn and
knitted with big needles.

Cashmere Merino Handspun Hand Dyed Yarn
Warm reds through dusky purples to violet are

catch can manner and let the colors fall where
they may which makes for a rich mélange of
color.
Fiber: 50/50 cashmere/superfine merino
Gauge 5 stitches per inch suggested
Needle size 7 to 8 US/4.5-5mm suggested (give it
room to bloom!)

Sumptuous Handspun Hand Dyed Yarn
Imagine, if you will, a
queen on the edge of the Steppes, robed in silks
and fur, and you will see my vision, with this
elegant and wild yarn. I created it with one
strand of a richly colored combination of
golden/green silk/merino and a strand of wildly
soft natural colored “redhead” angora. The
result is this magical yarn that I call
Sumptuous, and for all of the right reasons.
50% Naturally colored Angora, 25% Bombyx Silk,
25% Superfine Merino
Gauge: I suggest 5 stitches per inch, to give
the wild bloom to take up the spaces as you
handle the yarn
Needle size suggestions: 6 to 8 US/4.25 to 5 mm
Hand wash.
There are 6 skeins in the project:
2 @ 2.4 ounces- 196 yards $46.80 each

Joseph’s Coat
Merino/Silk/Baby Camel Handspun & Hand Dyed Two beautiful skeins are left from a big
project from a new fiber combo in an Old Friend
colorway; Joseph’s Coat. This combination of
fibers is so lustrous that you would think that
the silk portion is higher.
60/20/20 Superfine Merino/Silk/Baby Camel Down
Gauge suggestion: 5.5 to 6 stitches per inch
Needle suggestion: US 4-5/ 3.5-3.75 mm

Pistachio Flip Cashmere/BFL Handspun Hand Dyed Yarn
What happens when I play
with a jazzy batt of BFL and Tencel and ply it
with creamy cashmere? Pistachio Flip. The
softness is fabulous and the shots of turquoise,
orange and magenta through the Fresh Avocado
makes this a subtle and jazzy yarn.
Mongolian Jewels
Handspun Hand Dyed Yarn
I was able to get some of the most luxurious
DARK brown yak top recently and decided to ply
it with some beautiful merino fiber that I
blended on my carder with just a touch of
Firestar. The combination is dreamy soft and I
just want to keep burying my face in it. I have
made a few skeins, sold a few skeins and still
have enough of the merino to do a couple more
but for the time being, there are three
available. In the photo, the merino comes across
a bit more strongly than it does in real life.
The squint test gives much less contrast but you
will get the idea.
60% dark brown Mongolian Yak
36% Merino/4% Firestar nylon
Gauge suggested: 4 to 5 stitches per inch. The
yak will bloom so no need to knit too tightly.
Needle Size suggestion: size 9 US
Baby
Alpaca Silk Handspun Hand Dyed
Yarn in Fuerte
The mill that produces my baby alpaca yarns made
some combed top for me recently and it is so
wonderful to spin. Here it is in that green
mélange that is the colorway called Fuerte.
Impressionist Handspun Hand Dyed
Yarn This is a joyful riot of color and texture,
created when a Border Leicester Lamb fleece
procured at the Oregon Flock And Fiber Festival
was dyed, picked and spun into this gorgeous
curly single.
Fiber: 100% wool
Gauge suggested 4 stitches per inch
Needle size suggested 9US

Super Natural Angora
Border Leicester
Handspun Hand Dyed Yarn The first half of this project blew out of
my booth, at Rhinebeck, and when I realized that
I still had some of the beautiful, natural
colored Border Leicester locks in my arsenal, I
decided to Make Some More! As always, the angora
is very tightly spun and is just slightly
beginning to emerge a little, to tease the
knitter with just what the yarn will become,
when handled and worn; a beautiful, warm, furry
blur. You would have enough, with the whole
batch, to make my vest from 10 Secrets of the
Laidback Knitters but this would be a fabulous
hat/scarf project yarn for a man.
50/50 Angora/Natural colored Border Leicester
wool
Gauge suggested is 4 stitches to the inch, to
give the angora a chance to “bloom”.
Needle size suggestion is 8 to 9 US/ 5 to 5.25mm

Six skeins were produced:
2.82 ounces - 136 yards $36.60
2 @ 2.57 ounces-120 yards $33.41 each

Midnight Summer
Sky Handspun
Hand Dyed Yarn
Glorious color and the promise of a very deep
angora blur are enough to fall in love with this
new handspun yarn. I always spin my angora with
a LOT of twist, because I know that it will hold
the fuzz firmly until it is ready to slowly but
surely emerge, to wrap the merino in a deep and
luxurious halo.
There is enough yardage in this project to make
a warm vest or a luxurious wrap, or use it as
part of a fabulous colorwork piece.
50/50 Superfine Merino/Angora
My gauge suggestion is that of 4 stitches per
inch, to give the yarn “Room To Bloom”
Needle size suggestion is 8 to 9 US 5 to 5.25 mm

Four beautiful skeins were spun:
4.3 ounces-244 yards $64.50
4 ounces –226 yards $60
3.4 ounces -198 yards $51
3.3 ounces – 204 yards $49.50

Helios Handspun Hand
Dyed Yarn
When Glory met Lime Soufflé, there was something
magical that happened and I just decided to call
it Helios. This is a one-of-a-kind yarn because
of the component of the wickedly soft batts that
I created to make the Lime Soufflé portion of
the mix. The colorist in me finds it thrilling.
Fiber:65% Merino, 15% silk, 10% angora, 2.5%
